This landscape at this residence was re-assessed and redesigned. The new design emphasizes xeric plantings without sacrificing the enjoyment and leisure activities associated with a private yard in the city. An area of turf for children's play is outlined in perennial beds, a stone patio, and vegetable garden.

Some deciduous shrubs included in the planting palette are:

Alpine Currant, Apache Plume, Butterfly Bush, Black Chokeberry, Rabbitbrush, Sumac, Mountain Mahogany, Nanking Cherry, Serviceberry, and Wavy Leaf Oak.
